How Lidobandâ„¢ Works

Lidoband is a lidocaine-infused castration band that provides a unique, one-step pain-management solution.

Each Lidoband is infused with lidocaine to provide local anesthesia beginning approximately two hours after application and lasting at least 42 days, helping reduce pain and discomfort during the castration process. Once applied, the band gradually restricts blood circulation to the testicles over the next 3-6 weeks, allowing them to naturally detach on their own.

How to Apply Lidoband

  1. Securely restrain the animal and wear gloves during application.
  2. Load the band onto the applicator prongs.
  3. Squeeze the applicator handle to expand the band.
  4. Position the band above the testicles and remove the applicator.
  5. Confirm both testicles are properly positioned below the band.

Castration With an Innovative Band That Is Focused On Animal Welfare

Castration is a common practice in the dairy, beef cattle, and sheep industries, typically performed through surgery or elastic banding. Band castration offers a bloodless, cost-effective method with fewer complications, making it a practical choice for high-throughput operations. As ethical and industry standards evolve, solutions that prioritize animal well-being while maintaining efficiency are essential. That’s exactly what Lidoband offers!

The Lidoband Difference

The use of Lidoband delivers lidocaine into scrotal tissues as fast as 2 hours and for up to 42 days. This approach avoids surgery or the administration of injections, which would also decrease the time and handling costs for the producer.
